Worth storing? StoreReady it.
Our storage. Your peace of mind.
Whilst your goods are in storage, they are stored at your own risk. We strongly recommend you arrange protection for your goods for added peace of mind.
StoreReady is an optional extension to our Self Storage Licence Agreement. It lets you purchase additional protection for your stored goods, subject to the StoreReady Terms. StoreReady is not insurance. It extends the circumstances in which we accept liability if your goods are lost or damaged whilst in storage.
Who can opt in: StoreReady is available for self storage units and MegaBox mobile storage. It is not available for warehouse storage. Warehouse customers should arrange their own insurance.
If you opt in and your goods are lost or damaged, we will investigate the cause. Where we are liable under the StoreReady Terms, we may repair or replace your goods, or provide compensation, up to the Maximum Replacement Value you declared (subject to limits and exclusions).
Where StoreReady applies, we agree to provide a safe and secure facility and unit, protecting your goods against:
We calculate compensation on a replacement as new basis, provided:
For all other goods, we consider age, condition, quality, degree of use and market value. For documents, we can compensate the reasonable cost of reprinting, reissue or reconstitution, where your declared value reflects those costs.
To benefit from StoreReady, you must declare the total replacement value of all goods you are storing. This value must stay adequate for your whole storage period. If you under-declare, our liability is reduced in proportion (see the FAQ below).
Some goods are excluded and some have limits. Vehicles, cash, data, hazardous goods and flood are among the exclusions. See the FAQs below and the StoreReady Terms for the full list.
StoreReady is optional. If you don't opt in, our standard Self Storage Licence Agreement applies. Your goods are stored at your own risk and our liability is limited, which means you may have to bear any loss. You may also be liable if your goods cause loss or damage to others. We recommend you arrange your own protection or insurance.
Speak to our team and ask about StoreReady
Is StoreReady insurance? No. StoreReady is an optional extension to our Self Storage Licence Agreement. It extends our own liability to you for loss or damage to your goods whilst in storage, subject to the StoreReady Terms.
Do I have to insure my goods? No, but your goods are stored at your own risk. You can opt in to StoreReady, take out your own insurance, or rely on the standard Australian Consumer Law warranties.
How do I arrange StoreReady? Tell us you want to opt in, sign the StoreReady Application Form, declare your Maximum Replacement Value and agree to pay the StoreReady fee. You can add StoreReady when you book, or at any time as an existing customer by accepting our updated Licence Agreement with the StoreReady Terms.
How much does StoreReady cost? The monthly fee is based on the Maximum Replacement Value you declare. GST applies. Ask our team for a quote.
Is there a limit? Yes. The maximum is $100,000 per customer. For higher values, speak to our team before you store.
What goods are not covered? StoreReady does not apply to goods you aren't permitted to store under the Licence Agreement, or to bullion, bonds, financial instruments, or data records (including on USBs, hard drives, CDs and DVDs).
It also does not apply to:
Are some items limited? Yes:
What causes are excluded? StoreReady does not cover loss or damage caused by: leakage from your own containers; war, invasion, rebellion or government confiscation; terrorism; depreciation after repair; your own acts; radioactive, chemical or biological weapons; sonic booms; cyber attacks; communicable disease; flood (water escaping from a natural watercourse, lake, reservoir, dam or canal, or from the sea); and pollution or its clean-up. It also does not cover indirect losses such as loss of profits or goodwill, or loss from not being able to access your goods.
How do I calculate my Maximum Replacement Value? Use the cost of replacing everything as new for items under 10 years old. The exceptions:
What if I declare too little? Our liability is reduced in the same proportion. Example: your goods are worth $10,000 but you declare $5,000. If $3,000 of goods are damaged, our liability is $1,500.
How do I make a claim? Tell us as soon as you discover the loss or damage, or when you remove your goods, whichever is sooner. Our claims are handled by GSA Insurance Brokers on 02 8274 8100. Have ready: the claim form (ask us or GSA), your signed StoreReady Application Form, photos of the damage, repair quotes, replacement quotes for anything not repairable, and an estimate of the total cost. For theft or break-in, report it to the police and include the police report.
Can I cancel StoreReady? Yes. Speak to our team. If you haven't made a claim, we will consider a refund of any unused fee period.
